Eternal Mama ==> Universal Responsibility

Morning bliss.
I absolutely adore mornings.  Morning sun, morning rebirth, morning possibilities, morning rhythm.
Open eyelids, horizontal stretch, cleansing ritual, morning yoga and breakfast.

So, here i am: sitting cross-legged, bathing in the sun, feeling its rays exquisitely caressing my shoulders and in between my toes.  I stretch them out, open them up as if they were flower petals getting nourished by the white light. Already had my warm bowl of cereal--cinnamon scent invades the air-- and now i'm sipping my Tulsi tea.
Listening to reggae.

How can i NOT be grateful? How can i not smile from within as I take the time to appreciate what i have? where i am?

Life-
Life in itself is not meaningful. It is meaningful only if you can sing a song of the eternal, if you can release some fragrance of the divine, of the godly, if you can become a lotus flower--deathless, timeless. If you can become pure love, if you can beautify this existence, if you can become a blessing to this existence, only then does life have significance; otherwise it is pointless.  It is like an empty canvas: you can go on carrying it your whole life and you can die under its weight, but what is the point?
Paint something on it!
Meaning has to be created in life; meaning is not given already. You are given freedom, you are given creativity, you are given life.  All that is needed to create meaning is given.  All the essential ingredients of meaning are given, but meaning is not given, meaning has to be created by you. You can to become a creator in your own right.
And when you become a creator in your own right, you participate with God, you become a part of God.

These words are direct, powerful and wise. The ingredients are there, what are you going to create with them? It brings me back to what I wrote about days (maybe weeks?) ago about ART and being an artist.  Be an artist of your own art! Art is a thread that holds us, humans, all together.  We are all artists-- i believe that-- that it is in ourselves the power, the choice! to beautify and create.

For that, compassion is key.  I just watched this video (linked below) on the PRACTICE of compassion. A meditation. The practical action of compassion, which will definitely, absolutely, undeniable, unquestionably make you and the world a better place.
I have to make a special note on a concept that i thought is endearing and quite compelling: the Eternal Mama.  Approaching each other (those we know, love, don't know, have indifference or aversion towards) as one big family...where we are all each other's "mama".  We are all connected and every little thing every creature does has an impact on everyone! We shall take care of each other as an "eternal mama".
Ultimately leading to the power that unites us all: kindness through "Universal Responsibility".
**this will all become more clear as you watch the video**

Yoga Sutra 1.33:
maitrī karunā mudito peksanām
sukha dukha pûnyā punya visayānām
bhāvanātah citta prasādanam

* In daily life we see people around who are happier than we are, people who are less happy. Some may be doing praiseworthy things and others causing problems.  Whatever may be our usual attitude toward such people and their actions, if we can be pleased with other who are happier than ourselves, compassionate toward those who are unhappy, joyful with those doing praiseworthy things, and remain undisturbed by the errors of others, our mind will be very tranquil.
